MTrackJ: Quick Start

Here is a list of actions for a first tracking session:

  1. Select the plugin from the Plugins menu of ImageJ.
    > The MTrackJ dialog will attach to the current image window.
  2. Click the Add button in the MTrackJ dialog.
    > The button label turns red to indicate activity.
  3. Move the mouse to an interesting position in the image and click it.
    > A point is drawn and the program moves to the next frame.
  4. Successively move the mouse to a next position and click it.
    > The points are connected by lines to form a track.
  5. Double click the mouse button or press the Esc key.
    > The current track is terminated.
  6. Move to another interesting position in some time frame.
    > The next track is formed by successive clicking.
  7. Click the Save button in the MTrackJ dialog.
    > A dialog opens to specify the name of a file to save the tracks to.
  8. Open the Image > Properties dialog of ImageJ.
    > The image properties are shown for verification.
  9. Click the Measure button in the MTrackJ dialog.
    > A window opens showing basic track measurements.
  10. Click the Movie button in the MTrackJ dialog.
    > A movie is produced showing the image and track progression.
